By mid 13th century, the Crown of Castile was very
prosperous. New quarters were built in the cities and commerce flourished
thanks to the travelers and pilgrims who passed-through.
In 1277 the construction of a new Cathedral began in
León. The Bishop of the city wanted a very tall temple, with graceful
columns, smart arches pointing to the sky and light and almost transparent
walls full of stained glass windows. In conclusion, a building full of light
